Child Abuse Prevention Strategies for Mandated Reporters (S-2012-0499-1236)
Mon August 27, 2012 1:00 PM
Our Child Abuse Prevention Program is an evidence-based, age appropriate presentation available as a community resource. The three-tiered program focuses on providing training in child abuse prevention to children, other professionals, and parents throughout the St. Louis Metropolitan area. One of our goals is to give children the knowledge and response skills needed in order to avoid becoming victims of sexual abuse. Since 1992, the Child Abuse Prevention Program has conducted tens of thousands of presentations to over 300,00 children, parents, educators, and professionals.
The Child Abuse Prevention Strategies for Mandated Reporters training is designed to educate those who work with children on how to protect children in their care against child abuse. Each two hour presentation begins with an introduction and history of the program, a lecture/discussion section, an instructional video and small-group discussions around case studies taken from real life situations. Each participant is given a 38-page handbook to use as a resource.
All of our programs are presented free of charge. Our primary funders are the St. Louis County Children's Service Fund, The United Way of Greater St. Louis, Variety - The Children's Carity of St. Louis and Jewish Federation of St. Louis.
