The Body Garden - Teaching Health Literacy throgh Indoor and Outdoor Gardening (S-2012-0392-0805)

After participating in this fun and interactive workshop, you will gain a new appreciation for the role that different foods play in targeting appropriate development of the senses, bones, skin, and organs in children and maintaining ultimate health in adults. You will be shown interactive ways to teach health literacy through the implantation of The Body Garden. This workshop: 1) teaches the nutritional aspects of plant foods; 2) examines the role of organic vs. nonorganic sources, and 3) correlates the similarities between plant growth and plant health and child growth and development. Children, parents, and staff will learn from and greatly enjoy this interactive project once implemented. (Dates Offered: June 23: 8:00AM – 10:00AM; July 12: 8:00 AM – 10:00AM)

Refunds will be provided within 30 days of cancellation. Material costs and participant fees of $5.00 will be deducted from the refund if cancellation is not provided within 48 hours of the scheduled training.
