This two day conference covers a variety of topics related to the early childhood field such as music and movement, brain development, art, science and math, discipline, and much more. Two separate nationally know Keynote presenters share sessions over the course of the two days, as well as several regional Featured Speakers and many local presenters. Sessions range from hands-on activities, to lectures and discussion groups. Attendees include teachers, directors, students and other early childhood professionals. A separate one day Director's event is held the day before the two-day conference.

If life is supposed to be a picnic, where did all these ANTS come from? One ant is no big problem, ten to twenty ants can ruin the day or cause you to pick up and leave. ANTS are cynical, gloomy and complaining thoughts that just seem to keep marching in all by themselves. ANTS stands for "automatic negative thoughts". In this session, you will earn to identify nine different ways your thoughts lie to you, or nine different species of ANTS. When you begin to identify them, you can begin to take away their power - killing the ANTS.

You will have the opportunity to explore areas of physical science including machines, air/wind, color/light, gravity, mass, volume and more in over 20 hands-on activities. Participants will be given a framework of dimensions and elements to incorporate when building apparatuses. The framework is generative so it can be adapted to any program.

Using hands-on experieinces, participants in this session will explore new ideas surrounding children as image makers and gain a deeper appreciation for the importance of expressive arts in the development of young children.

Join us as we take art one step further by infusing science principals and art materials. Did you know your kitchen cabinet is filled with items to make science and art happen? Common items will be used to explore science principals and creative art. In science art we will experiment and celebrate our creative process with projects like Milk swirl, Balloon blow up and Rainbow stew. You will leave the class inspired and with a list of materials so you can make your own classroom science tubs.

A variety of activities will be presented which enhance the motor skills and creative play of preschool children (ages 2-5). Emphasis will be placed upon utilizing small, limited spaces such as a classroom. These movement activities will not only emphasize developmentally appropriate and necessary motor skills for the preschool child but also show how planned play can promote social skill development as well. How to use everyday items found in the preschool setting to foster imaginative and creative play to be included in this presentation.
